In P90X2 there are three distinct training phases.  Shorter than P90X the training is only five days a week as opposed to six days in the original P90X.  The schedule is more flexible also so you can stay in a phase longer if you feel the need to.

P90X2 phasesPhase 1: Foundation Phase (3-5 weeks): You’ll strengthen your core in this phase and learn to move with better function and create a more balanced muscle network.  This phase uses workouts such as P90X2 Core and Power and Balance.

Phase 2: Strength Phase, (3-6 weeks): You’ll increase your range of motion and build a foundation of skills to build strength through advanced resistance training.  This phase uses workouts such as Chest and Back+Balance and Plyocide.

Phase 3: Performance Phase (3-4 weeks): Now you put everything together and begin to use and understand Post Activation Potentiation and how the science behind it will bring all your training together. PAP-Upper and PAP-Lower.
